RAVEN News

I'd like to invite you to join in on an incredible experience this summer on the coast of Maine... Hog Island Ornithology! We still have some open spots! Once again the Island will be hosting ornithology sessions and welcoming visitors from all over the country in what will prove to be a rich and rewarding experience. Register online at the project puffin website listed here: Joy of Birding on Hog Island

I will be directing the first session of Joy of Birding June 10-15, however there are several sessions and you should look closely at their web page Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine and choose the session that suits your preference. Dr. Steve Kress, Puffin Project Director and National Audubon's Seabird Restoration Project Director will be instructing for all sessions. Dr. Kress is a wealth of knowledge and directed the Camp for many years and still overseas the entire Ornithology program... the adventures are always exciting, often unexpected, rich in value for both the experienced birder and those who need to sharpen their birding skills some. Having spent many years on Hog Island during the month of June I can say that visitors are not only thrilled with the Island experience, but the birding is superb on the Island and in the general area. We visit a variety of habitats... special mainland spots are prowled as well as other coastal islands with their own unique features. It's a place full of magic! I hope I'll be seeing some of you joining our great team on the islands and waters of Moscongus Bay this coming June. Take a look at the web page and if you still have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. The teaching staff for this program has tremendous depth... all levels of interests will gain much during this session... take a look at the list below! This would make a great birthday present to the birder in your family (or to yourself!) Good birding!
